FDA Allows Sale
PeptoZin™ From Lonza
FDA recently allowed the sale of PeptoZin TM, a new dietary ingredient from Lonza, Basel, Switzerland. PeptoZin is a complex of zinc and the dipeptide L-carnosine with unique biological activity different than that of zinc mixed with carnosine. In Japan, PeptoZin has been sold for over a decade as an ulcer-healing drug under the name Polaprezinc® (Zeria Pharmaceutical). Polaprezinc is manufactured by Hamari Chemical and enjoys abundant human and animal data. Lonza has an exclusive distribution agreement to market this patented ingredient in North America and Europe.
